"The Knights of Columbus, Council #10474, presented the 5th-6th grade girls of the Intermediate 2 basketball team (St. Theresa's School, New Cumberland, PA) with rosaries in March of 2026 in a unique and beautiful ceremony at St. Theresa Parish.
While the team gave all they had on the court and developed well over the season, it was their devout action in faith over the season that made them worthy of the gift.
Some of the events the team participated in were:
-Adoration as a team with the Blessed Sacrament
-The girls ran an advent prayer service
-Prayed the Divine Mercy Chaplet as a team for the intentions of the Parish Priest
-Attended 3 virtue talks (hospitality, diligence, and fortitude) by guest speakers
-invoked the patron saint, the Little Flower, at every huddle break (St. Therese of Lisieux... pray for us!!!).
The rosary provided to the girls was from Rugged Rosaries and is called the "Little Flower" rosary. The beautiful rosaries have a St. Benedict crucifix and a St. Therese of Lisieux medal. The rosaries were touched to a first class relic of St. Therese of Lisieux, thus making them 3rd class sacramentals. In addition, in the ceremony, Father Sawicki of St. Theresa's parish, provided a standard blessing of the rosaries, and the St. Benedict blessing for the crucifixes.
Congratulations ladies!!! The Knights of Columbus applaud your faith in action this season and wish you blessings in your future endeavors."
Vivat Jesus!
