When Brother Dave Murdocca touches an initiative – lock it in. Thank you Dave for taking the lead for this and figuring out all of the pitfalls and creating an environment for success for all involved. (Insert slow clap). Distribution of boxes to parishioners will be 10/17-18 and 10/24-25. The gifts you put in the boxes bring the joy of Christmas and the light of Christ to the poorest of the poor around the world, and include a rosary and message about Jesus. Tuesday, November 10th - final due date in the Parish Office, though we request they be returned not later than the weekend Masses on Nov 7th-8th. This is so another Knight or two and I can go through the boxes to see how many people included shipping, and how much the Knights have to cover, and we remove the items we are instructed not to send (even though some people pack them). Any forbidden items (i.e., foods, other items on the flyer) and any late boxes are turned over to the Parish for use as local donations. Sometimes someone drove items to Silence of Mary, sometimes they went to the local giving tree. For the week of November 9th-14th, drive from Holy Infant to St. Joseph's regional collection center. Jerry Sanders is heading up the "Turkey Round Up" of 500-600 turkeys. Jerry will be available at our 10/22 meeting to go over the details if you are interested. The Turkeys are distributed by Silence of Mary. Prior to 11/19: Jerry will need 2-3 guys to shop for turkeys in a determined area. 11/19 (pm): Jerry will need 3 guys to load the trailer with the captured turkeys. 11/20: Early AM Handout of the birds and Jerry will need 3 guys. If you are interested in being 1 of the 9 guys needed for this beautiful demonstration of charity, please talk with Jerry Sanders on 10/22 (our next meeting). I will have him stand up at the meeting so you know who he is.

Jerry Sanders will be harvesting Neck Ties for an initiative to make sleeping bags for people that need warmth this winter season. Jerry will be speaking at the meeting (10/22) about this. Please start the process to peek in your closet or loved ones closets for ties that simply aren't needed anymore. Ensure you get permission from loved ones before just taking their ties.
